When you order a garment from MYL BERLIN, nothing moves in a warehouse. Instead, a cutting table in Berlin gets busy. Every piece of clothing we sell is made to order in our own atelier: cut, sewn and finished for you, after you click buy. It takes about three weeks, and we think that wait is the most honest feature of the product.
Why we do not produce in advance
Conventional fashion works on forecasts. Brands guess what will sell, produce it in bulk, and what the forecast got wrong ends up discounted, shredded or in landfill. Estimates put unsold stock at up to a third of everything the industry produces. Made to order removes the guess. We produce exactly what is wanted, in exactly the size that is wanted. No overproduction, no dead stock, no end-of-season destruction.
It also changes the economics in your favor: instead of paying for a brand's warehousing and markdowns, you pay for fabric, craft and time.
What happens in those three weeks
Your order goes onto the atelier schedule, usually within a day or two. The fabric for your piece is inspected and cut by hand, then sewn by one of our tailors from start to finish rather than racing down an assembly line. Details like the faux leather sleeves on the Hybrid Hood Top or the fluid drape of the Sheer Drape Top are set and checked by hand. After a final quality pass and pressing, your piece is packed and handed to DHL. On every product page you will find a small timeline showing the estimated production and delivery dates for your order.
Genderless by design
Our clothing is not divided into menswear and womenswear, and it never has been. Pieces like the Cipher ribbed knit maxi dress or the Sheer Core Tank are designed around bodies and attitude, not categories. Ribbed knits, sheer mesh and structured silhouettes are cut to be layered, shared and restyled. It is the same spirit we bring to the runway: our collections are shown at London Fashion Week and made in Berlin Mitte.

Made to last, made to be cared for
A garment that took three weeks to make deserves more than a hot wash. Most of our knits and mesh pieces prefer a cold, gentle cycle and air drying; every product page lists the exact care instructions for its fabric. Treated well, these are pieces you will still be wearing when the season that inspired them is long gone.
